Giving Back to Cancer Fighters
Giving back is at the heart of not only Serasana's mission, but is also a personal mission of Patti McCormick, founder, CEO and acupuncturist.
Patti lost both parents to cancer at a young age and has seen how depleting the treatments can be. Her story is what inspired her to join the acupuncture field over 30 years ago and provide a community of hope and healing to others. She wanted to safely improve the quality of life for patients while they are fighting cancer, while providing time-tested therapies.
In 2017, Patti and her team of acupuncturists provided free acupuncture treatments at Serasana for local cancer fighters. Acupuncture can reduce the debilitating side effects that are commonly experienced during chemotherapy and radiation during cancer treatment. Acupuncture can help with pain, fatigue, nausea, anxiety, depression and the many other symptoms that are common when patients are undergoing treatments.
